Floor-level shower systems

The wedi Fundo Riolito Discreto, the world’s first vertical drain cover system panel that can be built into double walls or wedi made seats, steps, shelving or foot rests and can be installed over fitting wedi Riolito neo channel drain systems. The brand-new wedi Fundo Riolito Discreto has a 100 % waterproof core, integrated design and reversible cover (finished in brushed stainless steel, or it can be reversed and tiled over) and offer the ability to clean with ease, making it the ultimate shower wall drain solution.
Step 1 Step 1

Apply wedi 610 Adhesive Sealant to the underside of the plastic flange which will rest on the Riolito surface. Note: When the Riolito product is not being used, this flange should be cut away as it does not conform with slope designs other than Riolito.
Step 2 Step 2 When using Riolito neo offset bases, insert the grey spacers into the channel. When Fundo Primo or Fundo OneStep products with offset drains are used, spacers are not required.
Step 3 Step 3 Prepare your wedi shower floor unit as shown here where a Fundo Riolito is used. With slight modifications to the Discreto unit, you can use it with all Fundo models featuring an offset drain.
Step 4 Step 4

Place the Fundo Discreto unit over the channel / drain unit. wedi 610 Adhesive sealant will adhere the unit to the base.
Step 5 Step 5 Make sure the Fundo Discreto is installed with a tight angle / perpendicular to the shower base surface.
Step 6 Step 6

When Riolito neo is used, screws are used in addition to the wedi 610 Adhesive sealant when securing the flange to the base.
Step 7 Step 7

Remove any excess wedi 610 Adhesive sealant from the inside areas of the Discreto with a utility knife when it has dried to clean up the area.
Step 8 Step 8

Use wedi 610 Adhesive Sealant if you choose to install the optional stainless steel plate (which works with the use of Discreto’s finished stainless steel drain cover).
Step 9 Step 9 Apply some temporary weight against the metal plate so the sealant can set.
Step 10a Step 10a The unit is now installed and a double wall or seat / shelf unit can be installed around it, integrating the unit. The installation instructions show in detail how to insert and adjust the drain cover which can be reversed from finished surface to tileable surface. Adjustments can accommodate thickness of floor and wall tiles before fixing its position.

Step 13a Step 13a Select the desired side of the cover (stainless steel surface or tiled). Place the mounting bracket panels into the opening on the shorter side of the cover so that the hooks are facing backwards (away from the visible side).
Step 13b Step 13b It is essential that position and alignment are checked again! This is because subsequent correction will not be possible with future tiling of the visible side.
Step 14 Step 14 Place the alignment template with the hole on the side fixture, and slightly unfasten the screws. Align the mounting bracket so that the template is flush to the wall tile and touches the floor tile.
Step 15 Step 15 Here, the flush position of the back edge of the template to the front edge of the mounting ensures the correct vertical position. Now tightly fix the mounting bracket using the Allen key.
Step 16 Step 16 The cover caps (scope of delivery, no. 8) should be pressed onto the visible threaded rods.
Step 17 Step 17 Finally, the cover is mounted. You can hear it click into place by pressing lightly on the upper edge.
