Sealing and tension decoupling

Sealing with wedi Subliner Dry & Flex

wedi Subliner Dry & Flex is an all-in-one sealing and decoupling solution. It is a flexible, crack-bridging sealing and decoupling membrane with special layer of fleecing material on both sides, providing optimum anchorage for tile laying materials. It is particularly suitable for ceramic tiles and slabs and for natural stone cladding for internal walls and floors to provide quick sealing for projects with a tight deadline. The special membrane provides improved tension compensation, even if sudden temperature changes occur.

Step 1 Lay out wedi Subliner Dry & Flex and cut by using carpet cutter or scissors.

Step 2 Apply wedi thin-bed mortar onto prepared surface, using 4 mm or 6 mm groove.

Step 3 Place wedi Subliner Dry & Flex edge to edge – with the printed side facing upwards – and press by using a rubber roller or wooden board.

Step 4 Remove any escaping mortar and/or air bubbles. Do not overlap.

Step 5

In the joint area, paste over the individual widths for waterproof gluing with wedi sealing tape using cement-based slurry-type sealing compounds. Press on the joint area with a trowel or rubber roller.

Step 6

Seal off corner joints and floor connections with wedi sealing tape and cement-based slurry-type sealing compounds. Apply the sealing tape in the middle of the joint.
