wedi-Wannenbauelemente GmbH

Helmut Wedi founds wedi-Wannenbauelemente GmbH and starts the production of bathtub components, pipe claddings and profiles in a 250 m² tent on Kolpingstraße in Emsdetten, Münsterland.

1988

wedi is growing

Our production areas at the Greven-Reckenfeld site are expanded to 2,000 m² and a new coating plant s put into operation.

1993

10 years of wedi

We celebrate our 10th anniversary at the Greven-Reckenfeld site.

1997

Stephan Wedi

Stephan Wedi, a 31-year-old business administration graduate, becomes a member of the wedi management board.

1998

Stephan Wedi becomes Managing Director with sole power of representation

Stephan Wedi gets appointed as sole representative in April. After a short but serious illness, the "boss" and company founder Helmut Wedi sadly passes away in July.

2003

20 years of wedi and 'wedicef' is founded

wedi's 20th anniversary.

Our employees choose to donate to children and young people who are in need or seriously ill. Since 2001 when company-wide donation started, the willingness of wedi employees to donate impressed the board and as a result, the 'wedicef' is founded 2 years later.

2004

wedi Corp. is founded in the USA

We are expanding our sales activities and with wedi Corp. we are also represented in the USA.

2010

wedi UK & wedi W.I.P.

A new wedi office opens in Manchester, UK.

Our team at the wedi EXPERTS training academy teaches about the application of wedi product systems in entertaining theory and practical units. Qualification as a W.I.P. partner enables an extended warranty of 15 or 20 years for bathrooms created using the full wedi sealing system.

2012

Continued growth and introduction of the thinnest wedi complete system: the Fundo Plano

Our international presence expands further with new offices opening in Switzerland, Poland and Italy.

With a total construction height of just 65 mm, the Fundo Plano is the first complete system with integrated drain from wedi, and to date, is the thinnest complete shower system in the Fundo range.

2015

Fabian Rechlin becomes Managing Director, CE Marking and VOC Label

Fabian Rechlin becomes a member of the management board.

In the same year, wedi products receive the CE mark and the VOC label confirming that wedi products are very low-emission and considered to be harmless to health.

2017

Now also on the surface: wedi Top Line

We launch our seamless design surfaces of the 'wedi Top Line'  onto the French market.

2020

New companies in Australia and UAE

With our mindset focused on continuous growth, we invest in future markets. The wedi Group expands further to include the newly established offices in Sydney, Australia, and in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.

2022

Stephan Wedi retires

After 30 years at wedi, Stephan Wedi leaves the company and Fabian Rechlin takes over sole management.

The motto of our 40-year anniversary describes it in a nutshell. To put it better, right to the point.
